Day 26

The wok gas burner on a stove.
Day 25

A door hinge, simple but I think an effective subject.

Day 24

The moon taken tonight at about 9:30pm tonight. Taken with my Canon 40D with Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS lens with a Canon 2x convertor all mounted on a very steady tripod.
Day 23

This is a stubby/echo holder from our local pub. The best pub in Adelaide, well that is my opinion 'cos we drink there every Friday night. If you live in Adelaide come on down and check it out.
Day 22

I was going to put up a photo of one of the cyclists from todays Stage 5 of the Tour Down Under, but I couldn't resist this one of some very well dressed spectators. They were having a great day but I am unsure how their heads were on Sunday. Hope they pulled up ok. If you want to check out all the photos from todays action go to the sports event gallery on my website - http://www.colinparkphotography.com.au

Day 21

My weapon of choice to chase the cyclists in the 2nd to last stage of the Tour Down Under. My trusty Canon 1D Mark II N and Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS Lens. Should have a nice shot of a cyclist for you all tomorrow night, might even be Lance Armstrong, check back soon to see who I have shot.
Day 20

An old lantern just sitting in my shed. Shot with off camera flash and edited in photoshop.

Day 19

A hibiscus flower (hibiscus arnottianus) growing in our backyard. This project not only is making me think about taking a different subject every day, but it is also showing me that you do not necessarily need to move too far away from your own home. A majority of the 19 images on this web page have been taken from the confines of my own home.
Day 18

They only come out at night! Caught this little fella running around in the garden last night. Off camera flash with some photoshop post processing.

Day 17

The coat hanger with just the dog lead hanging from it. Shot with on camera flash and a customer white balance. Only manipulation was cropping and sharpening. The colours you see are created via the custom white balance and the flash.

Day 16

My wife's zippo lighter. Taken in my shed with no ambient light just off camera flash. Tweaking was done in Photoshop.

Day 15

Looking through a cheese grater, everything is fair game on this project :)
Day 14

Yep, my calculator. I had a long day editing photos and didn't really put a lot of thought into this one, but it does seem to work - any comments?
Day 13

My neighbours new motor for his racing boat, just completed the rebuild and was testing it today - Saturday. Hope fully everything went well and he will be ready for racing next weekend. Go SKEET!
Day 12

Sorry for the delay in the uploads folks, I have had some internet problems. All sorted now and updates hopefully follow regularly again. The lens cap and camera of choice 'Canon'. Everyone has their own idea on camera brand and I don't want to start an argument about brands, but I chose Canon and I am very happy with that choice.

Day 11

Today I decided to play with Depth of Field. This is my iMac keyboard taken with my 50mm 1.8 lens @ f1.8.
Day 10

I have made it to double figures - Day 10 - woohoo! This is a door handle on our fire place mantle that is due for restoration.
Day 9

One of the wake boarders having a moment off one of the jumps at Wake Wars today. He came away with only his pride bruised. It was a great day but dame HOT - 42ºC / 108ºF - either way it was hot.

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Day 8

The hardest part of this challenge so far is to photograph something different every day. Today it's pegs in a basket.
Day 7

These are my audio cables when I setup our outdoor movie nights. Guess it's time we had another night 'cos they are looking rather neglected.

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Day 6

My first real attempt at star trails, I am happy but improvement necessary. Next time they will be better.

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Day 5

This is our Dalmatian - Spike. He spends more time asleep than he does awake. I want to come back as a dog in the next life.
Day 4

A leaf from a Fruit Salad plant.

Day 3

Some tomatoes growing in the back yard, wish they would ripen!
Day 2

So far so good. At this early stage it is relatively easy to keep the pics coming. Light supplied by my iMac 24" screen.
Day 1

My first photo in the 365 Day Project. Some candles that my wife had lit in the lounge room while she was watching TV.

A Creative Year Ahead!

Hello to everyone out there.

I am a professional photographer undertaking an exciting and challenging exercise for the year 2010.

I have decided to take up the challenge of the '365 day project'. If you are unfamiliar with this task, basically I need to take a photograph on everyday of the year. Seems easy, but there has been a large amount of people try this in the past, with only a small number actually completing the task.

I may or may not be able to complete this 'project', but I am going to give it a go and see what happens.

So check back on a regular basis to see how I am progressing and feel free to add comments and constructive criticisms to each and every photo.

Official start date for my project is 2/1/2010 and end date will be 1/1/2011.
